Vilde Sandve Alnæs has, as both a violinist and composer, had a strong presence in the Norwegian improvised and contemporary music communities for the past 15 years; as one half of the acclaimed string duo Vilde & Inga, and as a central member of well established larger ensembles such as Aksiom and Allegria.
On her long-awaited solo debut, "I stemt jord", Alnæs challenges and explores the sonorous and musical possibilities of the acoustic violin. The music springs from an investigative and experimental nature, but is always characterized by subtle virtuosity and a deeply sophisticated understanding of form. The different pieces take shape as complimentary miniatures, with their own distinct identities. They unfold both patiently and insistingly; providing plenty of space to properly delve into it´s richly tactile layers of detail.
